George Guevara

Born July 28,1948 in Sonora Mexico. At the age of 12 Jorge and his family came to the U.S. to start a new life. Through hard work and preserverance he graduated from the UofA with a degree in electrical engineering. He loved watching his daughters play sports, especially softball. His favorite past time was playing golf. Jorge will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, his supportive attitude and love for his family. Jorge's great smile will always be remembered. George was an interesting person. In biology class, he was always goofing off and always had us laughing. His test grades in that class were about the lowest most of the time....until the end of the year when he got the highest score in the class. There was certainly more to George than he liked to let on, we realized. The last time I saw him was approximately around l971, maybe a year or two later. We were at University and Park Ave. George told me he had served in Viet Nam and was an engineering student at the University of Arizona. He had so much going for him when I last saw him, and I always wondered what he would do with his life. I will always remember his ability to look at the funny side of life and share the laughter.
